We are working alongside welcoming and inclusive specialist schools in Dudley that are looking for a committed SEMH teaching assistant to join its experienced and supportive team. SEND Teaching Assistant – Key Responsibilities

Deliver one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs
Work closely with the class teacher to support learning activities, behaviour management, and targeted interventions
Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and resilience throughout the school day
Support the monitoring of pupil progress and maintain clear communication with staff and families

SEND Teaching Assistant – Person Specification

Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs (education, care, or youth settings)
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to behaviour support
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
A sound understanding of SEMH and SEND strategies
A relevant qualification in education, care, or support is advantageous but not essential

SEND Teaching Assistant – To Be Eligible You Must:

Hold the Right to Work in the UK
Have an enhanced child barred list DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply)
Be able to provide two professional references (child-related preferred)
