HR Officer Part Time FTC Jan 2021
Our Turkey Agriculture division have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Officer to join the team to provide support and guidance to our managers for all ER related issues, and to mentor them through our processes and to give them the confidence in understanding our polices on a fixed term contract until January 2021, based at our Dalton Hatchery in Thirsk. This role is part time 20 hours per week, with working days to suit the individual.

Purpose of the role
The HR Officer will provide an efficient, effective and customer focussed HR and Training service which supports all aspects of an employee’s relationship and engagement with the business including recruitment, terms and conditions of employment, training and development activities, ensuring compliance with Employment Legislation and company policies
 
Your key responsibilities will include:
•Delivery of high quality, consistent and clear employee relations, ethical trading and modern slavery advice, to ensure legal compliance, applying sound judgement in the handling of sensitive matters and enquiries and supporting audits against requirements.
•Provide managers with effective coaching and support, influencing and challenging where appropriate.
•Provide managers and staff with the opportunities of mediating to conclude issues
•Providing case management on the application of employment policies, interpreting and advising on employment legislation and managing case works through to resolution.
•Attending and documenting formal colleague meetings at various sites as required.
•Ability to assess risk in colleague issues and gain appropriate support/action thereby minimising the company’s exposure to employment tribunals and preparing for, and attending employment tribunals where required, liaising between managers and legal representatives
•Ensure consistent and robust application of the attendance procedure in line with the Absence Policy, providing professional and effective advice and guidance on all absence management cases and working with Line Managers to meet their KPI targets for reducing Absence, identifying continually how to tackle absence effectively
•Manage the Occupational Health provision
•Managing the recruitment process to successful placement for all weekly paid vacancies to include reviewing advertising methods, selection methods and recruitment days and supporting the Resourcing Team in liaising with and managing Recruitment Agencies
•Ensure all data on manual and computerised records are accurate and up-to-date and provide accurate and timely reports and KPI’s to assist Management Team when required
•Ensure the delivery of the Company induction programme for all new colleagues and that regular refresher training is carried out where required
•Review the induction programme to ensure it meets business objectives and quality assure delivery from Agency Partners
•Ensure coordination and recording of colleague attendance for all mandatory training and development workshops liaising with Line Managers to ensure colleagues are released and cover is in place
•Champion 121 check ins, performance reviews and personal development planning, supporting the The Turkey Agriculture Buciness Team in coaching FLMs to understand the processes and develop their skills in these areas
•Organise support with the arrangement, creation, production and distribution of training-related material
•Ensure accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date training records are maintained and deal with any enquiries in relation to training and development
•Support the Turkey Agriculture team through co-ordinating team/role specific development training and qualifications with external providers – including apprenticeships
•Audit those delivering on-the-job training (on line training)
•Support with the management of the Training budget
•Support the implementation of policy/procedural changes, designing and delivering training activities to develop colleague understanding of HR Policies, Systems, processes and employment law
•In conjunction with FLMs support the identification of training and development needs for weekly staff
